Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill and Tara Strong are back. The DC Universe is giving us their next installment in their animated film series by bringing to life the amazing The Killing Joke story.
“The plot revolves around a largely psychological battle between Batman and his longtime foe the Joker, who has escaped from Arkham Asylum. The Joker intends to drive Gotham City Police Commissioner James Gordon insane to prove that the most upstanding citizen is capable of going mad after having “one bad day”.” (x)
A 10-minute sneak peek at the film was released today with the creators talking more about bringing the iconic comic to life as well as giving us more of what the story will be about.
I for one am totally excited about the idea of finally getting to see more of The Jokers backstory in a new form of media. We always get the Bruce story but now we’ll get a refreshing, albeit sad, story about his arch nemesis. With this story also means we’ll be getting to see the moment Barbara Gordon becomes paralyzed by The Joker and I am not ready for that much intensity.
The animation look spectacular almost like a grown up Batman: The Animated Series and the voice cast is the classic cast we’re used to hearing. I think this might be my most anticipated DC movie yet.
